VILLAGE NOTABLES INVITED TO BE IMPARTIAL AND AVOID CORRUPTION

In the morning of Monday, September 12, 2022, the Speaker of the Senate, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, participated in the elections of the hill notables of his Nyambuye native hill in Isare commune, Bujumbura province.

In an interview with the press, the Right Honourable Sinzohagera indicated that the institution of notables will remarkably contribute to the resolution of land disputes since these notables are close to the population.

The President of the Senate wished the notables to be impartial and to avoid corruption. He also advised the population to accept the verdict of this institution and to have confidence in it.

The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt received in audience by the president of the senate

Tuesday, September 27, 2022, the Senate Speaker, Right Honoorable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, received in audience the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Burundi, Mr. Yasser Elsayed Mohamed Elatawi, at the Liaison Office of this Institution, in Bujumbura City. Their discussions focused on strengthening friendly relations and bilateral cooperation.

The Right Honourable Sinzohagera praised the support of the Arab Republic of Egypt in several areas, including health, education and electricity. He also asked the Ambassador of Egypt to continue to provide support in the execution of the national development plan.

For his part, Mr. Yasser Elsayed promised that he will plead for his country to support Burundi in building the capacities of senators.
