The population of Giharo encouraged to promote girls’ education

On Saturday March 11, 2023, the Senate Speaker, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, joined the population of Shembe village, in the zone of Muzye, Giharo commune of Rutana province, in maintenance work on the NR11 linking the commune of Giharo and that of Kinyinya of Ruyigi province.

Addressing the population, the Right Honourable Sinzohagera congratulated them for their work and promised to be their ambassador to the Minister in charge of infrastructure in order to send as soon as possible machines which will level this road before it should be asphalted.

He urged the inhabitants of Giharo commune to rationally manage crops to prevent hunger. “Let’s change our mentality by avoiding cohabitation and debauchery,” he insisted.

In addition, the Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament encouraged the population of this locality to promote the education of girls, which will enable them to access decision-making positions.

The Senate Speaker also invited women and young people to initiate development projects by contracting loans from BIDF and BIJE Banks.
