He also demonstrated that local elected officials are accountable to the people. Discussions then focused on the participants&#8217; concerns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">The Deputy Speakers of the Senate met with the communal councillors and local administrative of Bugendana and Makamba, respectively, to discuss about decentralization and the Senate&#8217;s monitoring of local authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senat.bi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Ibikorwa-Rusangi-le-13-09-2025-8391-scaled.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" \/>Meetings between senators and communal councillors and local administrative were also organized in Muhanga, Cankuzo, Karusi, and Mukaza communes under the leadership of the senators.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">On the sidelines of this meeting in Bubanza commune, the Senate Speaker provided notebooks to 208 students from ECOFO Bubanza I. Each student received five notebooks.
