The Senate President Speaks out in favour of Inter-african trade transactions in local currencies

On September 19, 2024, the Senate Speaker, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera took part in the activities of the second day of the 12^th Annual Conference of Speakers of national and regional Parliaments of Africa which is being held in Midrand, South Africa.

Participants discussed various subjects.

Taking the floor, the Senate Speaker expressed the need to implement the african continental free trade area. He insisted on the creation of a strategy favourable to the intensification of trade between african states,  using local currencies.
