On October 19, 2024, the First Senate Deputy-Speaker, Honourable Denise Ndadaye, in the company of a senator elected in the constituency of Bururi, joined the inhabitants of Mutsinda village, Kiryama zone, Bururi province in the community development work consisting of weeding a plantation of more than 24,000 tree seedlings transplanted as part of the “Ewe Burundi Urambaye” project.
Speaking to the population, the First Senate Deputy-Speaker welcomed the step taken by the inhabitants of Bururi in protecting the environment, but still strongly condemns the cases of bush fires observed in this province, to the point that it is currently among the first 3 provinces next to Mwaro and Ruyigi where bush fires have been accentuated this year.
For that purpose, she urged the perpetrators of bush fires to pull themselves together. She also appealed to the population to save these plants for the preservation of nature.
Honourable Denise Ndadaye also encouraged the inhabitants of Bururi to engage in community development work by sacrificing at least two hours per week to contribute to the building of the nation.
Concerning the electoral process already initiated, the First Senate Deputy-Speaker called on the inhabitants of Bururi to answer massively to the voter registration which will begin on October 22,2024 in order to participate in the next elections.
