On October 29, 2024, the First Deputy-Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Denise Ndadaye, visited Murama, her native village in Nyabihanga commune, Mwaro province, to assess the progress of voter registration for the 2025 elections.
During her visit, Honourable Ndadaye announced that out of 1,200 people expected to register, 1,030 have already registered. She took this opportunity to appeal to the population present and the local administration to, in turn, sensitize the community to wake up early in the morning and register massively, so that everyone can exercise their right to vote.
Among the advice given by Honourable Ndadaye, she stressed the importance of remaining calm, cultivating love within the community and helping each other.
She also called on the population to protect the environment, considering this as a solution to the climatic changes that cause floods, strong winds and other frequent bad weather in this region.
The visit ended with a gesture of solidarity, with the distribution of uniforms to nursery school students and footballs to students of basic and post-basic schools, in order to promote sports activities on this village.
