During the prayer of December 25, 2024, celebrating the Christmas Day, the Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, Senate Speaker and Legal Representative of the United Methodist Church of Burundi, joined the faithful of Rubirizi Parish, located in the commune of Mutimbuzi. He was accompanied by a deputy from Bujumbura constituency, senators elected in Bujumbura Town as well as administrative officials from the province Bujumbura.
In his preaching, the Right Honourable Sinzohagera relied on the teachings of the Holy Scriptures, particularly John 3:16 and Deuteronomy 28:1. He recalled that God’s love led to the sending of his sole son to Earth, so that whoever believes in him should have eternal life.
He also stressed that believing in Jesus implies three essential commitments: following in his footsteps, accepting to be guided by the Holy Spirit and loving our neighbour as God has loved us.
In addition, he challenged the faithful by asking them a crucial question: “What did you do when your neighbour was in need? » This question, he said, will be asked to them in heaven.
To conclude, the Senate Speaker promised the parish a contribution to guarantee the smooth running of the New Year sharing festivities among the faithful.
