The population of Bubanza called to enter the agricultural sector

Taking advantage of the parliamentary recess in March 2025, the Senate Speaker, Right Honourable Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA, in the company of some members of his family and certain local administrators, proceeded to harvest paddy rice, cultivated in his field located in the village Gifugwe of the commune Mpanda, in Bubanza province.

Speaking to the media, Right Honourable Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA recalled that the natural wealth that God has given to people is found in the ground, adding that we must take advantage of it.

He also thanked the Government of Burundi for the concentrated effort in the agricultural field by facilitating access to agricultural inputs, mentioning however that a particular effort should be put into the production of selected seeds.

He indicated that when production is good, the population will eat its fill and sell the surplus.

In conclusion, he invited the ministry in charge of agriculture and livestock and the ministry responsible for industry to collaborate closely to promote agricultural production and seek sales markets.

He asked the population to work to eradicate hunger.
