THE POPULATION OF CIBITOKE CALLED TO BUCKLE DOWN TO DEVELOPMENT WORK AND PROTECT THEMSELVES AGAINST COVID-19

Following her visits to the population during this recess, the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye, accompanied by parliamentarians elected in the constituency of Cibitoke, visited this province from 19 to 22 July of this year.

On 19 July, she joined the population of Mabayi and Bukinanyana communes during the collecting of the rubble and mixing the concrete used for the construction of a classroom of Kibande basic school in the zone and commune of Mabayi.

On the second day of her visit, the 1^st Deputy Speaker of the Senate joined the population of Mugina and Rugombo communes in the laying out of the gutters that will house the pipes of the drinking water supply in the village Rubirizi village, Rugajo zone, in the commune Mugina.

She then joined the population of Buganda and Murwi communes on 21 July 2022 for the mixing of the concrete for the construction of two bridges linking Ndava hill to Mwunguzi and Nimba hills of the zone Ndava in the commune of Buganda.

She ended her tour in this province by organizing a meeting, at the chief town of Murwi commune, with the heads of provincial services, local administrative authorities of all the communes of this province, as well as representatives of religious denominations and political parties to exchange on social, economic and security aspects.

In all these places, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye called on the population of this province to preserve peace and security, protect the environment, and fight against polygamy, drunkenness, cohabitation, erosion and fraud.

Furthermore, she invited the audience to keep on respecting the barrier measures against Covid-19, to merge and work in associations and to adopt family planning.

She also called on parents to encourage their children on holiday to buckle down to various development projects.

During her visit, the 1^st Deputy Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament also inaugurated a communal lodge in Murwi. She also paid a guided visit to Buhoro tea complex and Ruhwa thermal, on the border between Burundi and Rwanda.
