Let us support them in projects leading to the achievement of Burundi vision, an emerging country by 2040 and developed by 2060.”
In his speech, the Head of State stressed that this day is an opportunity for women to make a retrospective analysis and evaluate their contribution to the development of their families and their countries. He also highlighted the fundamental role that Burundian culture plays in valuing women in household management and community development. In this regard, he recalled that the Code of Persons and the Family reflects our positive traditional values.
During a moment of conviviality in Ospia, the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Denise Ndadaye, took the opportunity to extend her wishes to all the women present at the event. She urged each woman to actively engage in the country’s development activities.
She also reminded all participants that supporting women, who are the pillars of families and development, is of crucial importance, especially in the pre-election period. The goal is to prepare to elect good leaders, capable of carrying and defending the interests of women and society as a whole.
The celebration of this day has highlighted the importance of the role of women in the development of Burundi. Not only do they contribute to the development of families, but also to building a better future for the country.
