Christians urged to be characterized by humility

On the occasion of the celebration of the Easter, on Sunday, April 20, 2025, the Senate Speaker, Bishop, and Legal Representative of the United Methodist Church in Burundi, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, accompanied by his family, a senator elected in Bujumbura town, and a representative of the Mayor of the same territorial entity, joined the faithful of this Church in Kamenge Parish, Ntahangwa commune, during this convivial celebration, marking the transition from darkness to light.

Based on the holy scriptures taken from Luke 24:1-10 and 2 Corinthians 5:15, Right Honourable Sinzohagera urged Christians to sacrifice themselves to achieve their goals, following the example of Jesus Christ on the cross. He invited them to perform acts which would please God, rather than thinking only of their own joy.

The Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament called on them to be characterized by humility, to be guided by the Holy Spirit, and to love the Word of God.
