Participation of Senate Speaker in the Round Table of Development Partners and Private Investors

Under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, Burundi organized a Round Table of Development Partners and Private Investors.

This event was held at Kigobe Convention Centre from December 5 to 6, 2024. Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, Speaker of the Senate, participated in this meeting, accompanied by First Deputy speaker and the Honourable presidents of Standing Committees in Senate.

The main objective of this Round Table was to share the government’s vision for Burundi socio-economic development in order to mobilize all stakeholders and the financial resources necessary to achieve Burundi’s vision: an emerging country by 2040 and a developed country by 2060. Discussions focused on the reforms envisaged and underway.

The event also served as a platform to offer investment opportunities to private investors and official partners. Constructive dialogues were encouraged to mobilize the resources and expertise needed to contribute to the achievement of this ambitious vision.

At the end of this Round Table, several commitments and promises were made by partners, both national and foreign, to support Burundi in its development programme.

The Round Table thus marked a significant step in strengthening partnerships between Burundi and its investors by paving the way to a fruitful cooperation for a prosperous future.
