During her visit in Rugazi commune of Bubanza province, on November 28, 2022, the First-Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honorable Dénise Ndadaye, joined the population of this locality in community development work consisting in the collection of rubble that will be used to build a health center at Kibuye village.
Shortly after this work, Honorable Dénise Ndadaye held a meeting with the administrative staff, local representatives and those who had taken part in these activities.
The First-Deputy Speaker of the Senate, in her remarks, welcomed the efforts made by the population for the construction of this health center and asked them to continue to preserve peace and security, the basis of development. “We must also fight against drunkenness and cohabitation” she added.
She also asked administrators and parents to get actively involved in promoting children’s education and to avoid school dropouts.
For local representatives, she asked them to be exemplary and impartial towards the population because injustice is an evil to banish.
Among various advices given to the participants in this meeting, Honorable Dénise Ndadaye focused on the protection of the environment, the promotion of agro-pastoral activities so as to develop and the payment of taxes and duties. In addition, she promised them sacks of cement to support the construction of this health center.
Among the concerns expressed by the inhabitants of Rugazi commune are the large eucalyptus trees surrounding the classrooms, which constitute a danger in the event of strong winds; and requesting support for student sports clubs.
At the end of this meeting, the First-Deputy Speaker of the Senate visited the raceway center of the Women’s Forum Association and a multipurpose room in Rugazi commune.
