SUMMARY REPORT OF THE PLENARY SESSION OF JANUARY 25, 2022 RELATING TO THE ADOPTION OF THE PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 24 TO FEBRUARY 04, 2022

The year two thousand and twenty-two, on the twenty-fifth day of January, senators met in the hemicycle of the Senate for the 72^nd plenary session of the sixth legislature to adopt the programme of activities for the period from January 24 to February 04, 2022.

The session was chaired by Honourable Second Deputy-Speaker of the Senate, Mr. Cyriaque NSHIMIRIMANA. That session, which was attended by 23 senators, began as usual with a prayer at 10:50 a.m.

Opening the session, the Honourable Second Deputy-Speaker of the Senate first presented to the Honourable senators the draft programme of activities from January 24 to February 04, 2022 which was worded as follows:

• Monday, January 24, 2022, committee work mentioned on the draft programme;

• On Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 09:00 a.m., a Bureau meeting was held followed by that of the Extended Bureau at 10:00 a.m. and a plenary session for the analysis and adoption of the programme of activities for the period from January 24 to February 04, 2022 as well as committee work in the afternoon;

• Wednesday, January 26, 2022, work in committees is planned;

• Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 09:00 a.m., there will be a plenary session for the analysis and adoption of the bill on the ratification by the Republic of Burundi of the cooperation agreement for the execution of the resource management project in Burundi between the Government of the Republic of Burundi and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt signed on March 24, 2021 in Cairo and, committee work is organized in the afternoon;

• Friday, Monday and Tuesday, respectively 28, 31 January and 01 February 2022, work in committees is organized;

• Wednesday, February 2, 2022, a plenary session on the analysis and adoption of the bill on Burundi Rail Transport Code is scheduled at 9 a.m. and an exchange of wishes for 2022 from 3 p.m.;

 • Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 9 a.m., there will be a plenary session relating to an oral question with debate addressed to the Minister of Hydraulics, Energy and Mines. In the afternoon of that day, committee work is organized;

• Friday, February 04, 2022, committee work is planned.

After the presentation, the programme was adopted unanimously.

A communication to Honourable senators concerning the Burundi-Bwiza Cooperative was made on the same occasion by the chairman of that session, the Honourable Second Deputy-Speaker of the Senate, Mr. Cyriaque NSHIMIRIMANA.

The session ended at 11:09 a.m in a climate of perfect harmony.
