The Burundi Senate Speaker visits the Federal Republic of Russia

In the afternoon of Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the Burundi Senate Speaker, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, boarded a plane from Melchior Ndadaye Airport to Saint Petersburg, Federal Republic of Russia, on the invitation of Her Excellency Valentina Matvienko, President of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, to participate in the 11^th International Ecology Congress, which will take place in Saint Petersburg from May 22 to 23, 2025, at the Tauride Palace, under the theme: Planet Earth: living in Harmony with the Nature.

This congress has been held regularly since 2008 to discuss current environmental issues and develop an integrated and equitable approach to climate change resilience.

This congress also provides for the exchange of experiences in the fields of sustainable environmental protection, adaptation to climate change, conservation, and effective management of natural resources.

The Burundi Senate Speaker will also have the opportunity to share with participants the efforts already undertaken by the Government of Burundi to protect the environment.
