The central theme of this conference was: \u201c<strong>Reaffirming our African family and cultural values\u201d.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">She underlined that during these meetings, the participants notably committed to preserving their culture and heritage through the common and shared values \u200b\u200bof Ubuntu, as well as through the desire to fight against the omnipresent form of cultural colonialism, which is intensifying at the national, regional, sub-regional and international levels.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">Honourable Ndadaye took this opportunity to share with other participants the importance of preserving and promoting cultural and social heritage. She also stressed that it is necessary to promote and protect this area by revising the laws related to it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">\u201cWe have appealed to African States to exercise vigilance and refrain from signing, adhering, ratifying or adopting treaties,<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senat.bi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/DSC_3276_054340-768x544.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"227\" \/> conventions or any international legal instruments which undermine religious values, \u00a0cultural and African family,\u201d she added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">The First Deputy Speaker of the Senate also noted that the participants showed admiration to the Republic of Uganda for enacting the Anti-Homosexuality Act in 2023.
