{"id":10514,"date":"2024-12-06T09:11:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-06T07:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/?p=10514"},"modified":"2024-12-11T09:12:38","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T07:12:38","slug":"summary-report-of-the-plenary-session-of-december-05-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/summary-report-of-the-plenary-session-of-december-05-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"SUMMARY REPORT OF THE PLENARY SESSION OF DECEMBER 05, 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">In the year two thousand and twenty-four, on the fifth day of December, senators met in the Senate hemicycle for the 217th plenary session of the sixth legislature to consider two points, namely:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">adoption of the modified programme of activities which were planned for the period from December 2 to 17, 2024;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">approval of a candidate proposed for the position of General Inspector of the National Police of Burundi.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">The session was led by Right Honourable Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA, Senate Speaker. This session which saw the participation of 32 senators and a Government Representative, Honourable Martin NITERETSE, Minister of the Interior, Community Development and Public Security, began, as usual, with a prayer at 9\/ 30 a.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">Opening the session, the Speaker of the session first welcomed the Honourable senators present and subsequently presented the modified programme of activities which were planned for adoption. The latter was adopted unanimously.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">Then, the Speaker of the Senate read the letter of transmission from His Excellency the President of the Republic of Burundi of the candidate proposed for approval.
