{"id":10643,"date":"2025-04-11T22:27:01","date_gmt":"2025-04-11T20:27:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/?p=10643"},"modified":"2025-04-16T22:34:49","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T20:34:49","slug":"return-of-the-second-deputy-speaker-of-the-senate-from-a-working-mission-to-uzbekistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/return-of-the-second-deputy-speaker-of-the-senate-from-a-working-mission-to-uzbekistan\/","title":{"rendered":"Return of the Second Deputy Speaker of the Senate from a working mission to Uzbekistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senat.bi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/DSC_1226-08-4-2025-scaled.jpg\" width=\"226\" height=\"154\" \/>This Friday, April 11, 2025, the Second Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Fabrice Nkurunziza, returned from a working mission he carried out in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan, from April 5 to 9, 2025, where he participated in the work of the 150<sup>th<\/sup> Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), organized under the theme: <strong>&#8220;Parliamentary Action for Social Development and social Justice.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">During this Assembly, participants were able to take stock of the progress of social development in their respective countries with regard to poverty reduction, job creation, and social cohesion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">In this regard, it was noted that major challenges remain, such as unemployment, pension systems, sparing resources, and social inequalities. However, there are some groups which are more vulnerable than others, including women, youth, migrants, people with disabilities, older workers, indigenous peoples, and minority groups, who are most exposed to multiple forms of discrimination that prevent them from progressing in society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senat.bi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/DSC_1234-08-4-2025-scaled.jpg\" width=\"365\" height=\"243\" \/>As this is a major challenge hindering social development, the participants in this assembly advocated a multidimensional approach and a set of country-specific policy reforms, focused on:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">&#8211; investing in people, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and the environment;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">&#8211; democratizing the economy focused on creating quality jobs and;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">&#8211; strengthening institutions through support from international financial organizations which can create an enabling environment for development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">The participants in this assembly committed to working to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">strengthen the legislative and accountability role of their own parliaments as a necessary condition for governance reforms at all levels;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">strengthen the representation of women and youth in parliaments and all major decision-making bodies;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">work together to develop a new global agreement focused on social development, adapted to the current order and guaranteeing justice and peace for all peoples of the world.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">During that meeting, the Second Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Fabrice Nkurunziza, shared national experiences with the other participants on the theme <strong>&#8220;Parliamentary Action for Social<\/strong> <strong>Development and Social Justice,&#8221;<\/strong> where each participant was able to contribute the experience of their origin country as a complement to each other.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This Friday, April 11, 2025, the Second Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Fabrice Nkurunziza, returned from a working mission he carried out in Tashkent, Republic<span class=\"excerpt-hellip\"> [\u2026]<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":10644,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[15,46],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10643"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=10643"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10643\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":10646,"href":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10643\/revisions\/10646"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/10644"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=10643"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=10643"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=10643"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
