During this parliamentary recess, Honourable D\u00e9nise Ndadaye, First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, met, on Wednesday March 09, 2022. with representatives of local elected officials, decentralized services and social actors from Cankuzo, Cendajuru and Kigamba communes of the province cankuzo, in the administrative centre of that province, to discuss development and socio-economic issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Honourable D\u00e9nise Ndadaye, in her message, recalled the importance of safeguarding security, the basis of sustainable development. In that regard, she called on the administrative authorities to be vigilant in preventing anything likely to disturb peace and security. \u201cWe must fight against the manufacture and consumption of prohibited drinks, laziness, cohabitation, land disputes, fraud, corruption and any bad mentality,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The First Deputy-Speaker of the Senate advised the population of Cankuzo to get down to agro-pastoral activities, protect the environment, plant trees that live in symbiosis with other crops and keep eucalyptus trees away from water sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking of leadership, she urged the representatives of the people to adopt exemplary behaviour, represent validly the people, respect and uphold the law, be discreet, be on time in service, have a patriotic spirit, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In terms of education, Honourable D\u00e9nise Ndadaye encouraged parents to properly educate their children and help avoid early marriages and unwanted pregnancies in schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, the First Deputy-Speaker of the Senate invited women to massively join community cooperatives for self-development and, if necessary, apply for loans from the Investment and Development Bank for Women (BIDF) to increase their capital. To that end, she called on men to support women in that field, since integral development is everyone’s responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the concerns raised by the participants in that meeting are the asphalting of the road which connects the localities of Cankuzo-Mishiha and the United Republic of Tanzania, the decentralization of the services of the Burundi Revenue Authority (OBR) and the Single Window to that province and many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other participants in that meeting were Senator Njiji D\u00e9sir\u00e9 and some deputies elected in the constituency of Cankuzo as well as the governor of that province, Mr Boniface Banyiyezako.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shortly before that meeting, the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate had joined the inhabitants of the commune and province of Cankuzo in the maintenance works of the road linking that commune to that of Mishiha.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
