During her visit in Cankuzo province, the First Deputy-Speaker of the Senate, Honourable D\u00e9nise Ndadaye, brought together, on March 10, 2022, the representatives of local elected officials and social actors as well as the heads of decentralized services of Mishiha and Gisagara communes, in the administrative centre of Mishiha commune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The purpose of that meeting was to discuss with those representatives on issues related to socio-economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her remarks, Honourable D\u00e9nise Ndadaye indicated that peace and security constitute the pillar of development, a reason why they must be jealously preserved. To that end, she recommended that people holding weapons illegally should hand them over without delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The First Deputy-Speaker of the Senate encouraged the populations of those localities, especially women, to join cooperatives for self-development and to apply for loans from the Bank for Investment and Development for Women (BIDF) to have capital to invest. In addition, she called on parents to promote the education of their children in collaboration with teachers. \u201cWe urge young people to avoid unwanted pregnancies and early marriages in school area to prepare for their good future,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the advice given by Honourable D\u00e9nise Ndadaye are the promotion of agro-pastoral activities, the fight against fraud, cohabitation, laziness and bad mentality as well as the protection of the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During their interventions, the participants in that meeting raised questions relating to the insufficiency of the textbooks for some schools, the decentralization of some services which issue administrative documents, the asphalting of the Cankuzo-Mishiha road, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shortly before that meeting, Honourable D\u00e9nise Ndadaye had joined the inhabitants of Mishisha commune in the paving work of a block of Mishiha Hospital, under construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the afternoon of the same day, she visited the offices of the Burundi Revenue Authority (OBR) located in Gahumo, in Mishiha commune bordering the United Republic of Tanzania, to realize the challenges of cross-border services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
