On Friday March 10, 2023, the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable D\u00e9nise Ndadaye, met with local representatives from Kirundo province to remind them that they must refer to the law in exercising their daily function.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Honourable D\u00e9nise Ndadaye challenged communal administrators to fight against corruption and reminded them that they do not have the right to impose a fine exceeding fifty thousand Burundian francs (50,000 FBu), as the law stipulates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She asked the local authorities to listen and respond to the grievances of the population, to serve as a model and to be able to communicate the achievements in progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The First Deputy Speaker of the Senate invited the members of the communal councils to closely follow the work of the administrators in order to verify that the latter take into account the wishes of the electorate. \u201cEach administrative authority is indebted to the population,\u201d she insisted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In order to properly plan the programme budget, Honourable D\u00e9nise Ndadaye recalled that the communal administrator must know how to plan, organize, enforce the law, ensure coordination and control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
