{"id":9661,"date":"2024-03-21T10:08:41","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T10:08:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/?p=9661"},"modified":"2024-04-25T13:56:47","modified_gmt":"2024-04-25T13:56:47","slug":"the-first-vice-president-of-the-senate-calls-on-the-government-to-review-the-law-governing-public-contracts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/the-first-vice-president-of-the-senate-calls-on-the-government-to-review-the-law-governing-public-contracts\/","title":{"rendered":"THE FIRST DEPUTY SPEAKER OF THE SENATE URGES THE GOVERNMENT TO REVIEW PROCUREMENT LAW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/sen52.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-9755 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/sen52-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/sen52-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/sen52.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, during a visit to the provinces of Bubanza and Cibitoke, the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Denise Ndadaye, visited several projects, such as the Gakerenke site composed of 94 houses for the Batwa in Gahwazi II, groups of single mothers in the commune of Bubanza who will benefit from sewing machines, 32 houses being built for the Batwa community on the site Binyange, as well as the \u201cBon Samaritan\u201d school which hosts disabled children in Buganda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">The objective of this visit was to evaluate the implementation of the activities planned by the Ministry of Solidarity for the 2023-2024 budget year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">At the end of this visit, the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate noted that some projects were not completed due to the non-fulfillment of commitments by the entrepreneurs who won the contracts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">Honourable Ndadaye therefore urged the government to revise the procurement law.
