{"id":9959,"date":"2024-03-30T12:50:05","date_gmt":"2024-03-30T12:50:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/?p=9959"},"modified":"2024-04-25T12:55:05","modified_gmt":"2024-04-25T12:55:05","slug":"the-senate-speaker-praises-the-efforts-made-by-the-authorities-of-the-port-of-bujumbura","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/senat.bi\/en\/the-senate-speaker-praises-the-efforts-made-by-the-authorities-of-the-port-of-bujumbura\/","title":{"rendered":"THE SENATE SPEAKER PRAISES THE EFFORTS MADE BY THE AUTHORITIES OF THE PORT OF BUJUMBURA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senat.bi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/senat12-1-300x200.jpeg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>This March 29, 2024, the Senate Speaker, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera visited different places on the coast of Lake Tanganyika located in Bujumbura Province and Bujumbura City such as Rusizi River, a place commonly called \u201cKu mase\u201d, Kinyankonge River, Kinindo West district, the Port of Bujumbura and the Kagera River to assess the implementation of the activities carried out by the Ministry having the Environment in its remit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\">After all these visits, the Senate Speaker noted that these places are strongly threatened by the waters of Lake Tanganyika and the rivers which flow into it. He encouraged the authorities of the Port of Bujumbura for the w<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 20px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.senat.bi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/senat17-300x200.jpeg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>ork they are carrying out in constructing the protective dike and other methods used to evacuate the water which has already invaded the Port.
