On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in the commune Mwumba of Ngozi Province, in Ruhuka Hotel, , the Speaker of the Senate, Right Honorable Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA, accompanied by the Governor of Ngozi province, opened a Seminar-Workshop organized by Maison Lueur d’Espoir in collaboration with African Initiative under the theme “The role and responsibility of Priests, Prophets and “Kings” in building a Burundi that God wants, that we desire and for which we pray.”
In his opening speech, the Senate Speaker recalled the role of each participant as Priest, men and women chosen, consecrated, specially dedicated to the work of God as priests; and as Prophets called and commissioned by God to constantly remind his people and leaders to live by the principles of his word.
He continued his speech by saying that today, another evil that is observed in many Churches is the emergence of false prophets who claim to have met and heard God when this is false. He invited each of them to pray for a gift of discernment in order to recognize the sheep and the fierce wolves.
Ending his speech, the Senate Speaker, Right Honourable Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA asked the workshop participants to help one another build a solid biblical foundation, to self-evaluate and identify the dysfunctions which await them in their respective roles and responsibilities.
He further stressed that our country is approaching elections in which leaders of religious denominations must play a role of guiding and educating the faithful in mutual respect and self-control.
