
On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in the hemicycle of Kigobe, Ntahangwa commune, Bujumbura province, the Senate took part in the swearing-in ceremonies of thirteen members of the Government. They swore an oath before God the Almighty, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE, and the Parliament assembled in Congress.
In their oath, these members of the Government swore loyalty to the Charter of National Unity, the Constitution, and the law.
They committed themselves to devote all their strength to defending the higher interests of the nation, to promoting the unity and cohesion of the Burundian people, to upholding peace and social justice in the fulfilment of the duties entrusted to them.
They also pledged to combat all forms of ideology and practice of genocide and exclusion, and to defend the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals and citizens.
This event was also attended by the Vice President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, members of the Bureaus of both chambers of the Parliament; parliamentarians; representatives of the National Defense and Security Forces; representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps accredited to Burundi, and many others.
