The Second Deputy Speaker of the Senate Participates in the Welcome of the Torch of Peace in Makamba, Nyanza, and Rumonge Communes

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, Honourable Clotilde Kampimbare, Second Deputy Speaker of the Senate, took part in the festivities to welcome the Torch of Peace in Makamba, Nyanza, and Rumonge communes, in Burunga Province.

The Torch was enthusiastically welcomed by the population along the roads, in the presence of the Governor of Burunga Province, parliamentarians, local authorities, and a crowd of people.

On this occasion, Honourable Clotilde Kampimbare, in her speech, thanked His Excellency the President of the Republic for the guidance provided through the initiative of Intwararumurio.

She highlighted the wonderful coincidence with the dialogue sessions between the Senate and communal councillors as well as local administrative.

The Second Deputy Speaker of the Senate urged administrative officials to work in accordance with the law so that every citizen is served fairly under the rule of law, an essential condition for good governance and inclusive and sustainable development.

She also encouraged leaders to be true models of enlightenment and integrity, and urged the youth to avoid distractions, get down to work, and engage in projects that carry out a better future.

The day was also marked by the participation of the Second Deputy Speaker of the Senate in community development projects in Makamba, Nyanza, and Rumonge communes.
