Approval of 9 candidates’ names for ambassadorial positions and a governor of Ngozi

Thursday, September 28, 2023, in accordance with article 192 of the Constitution of the Republic of Burundi and on the proposal of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye, in a plenary session led by the Speaker of the Senate, Right Honorable Emmanuel Sinzohagera , senators approved 9 names of candidates proposed for ambassadorial positions.

These approved candidates are: Amb. Ernest Ndabashinze, Hon. Isabelle Ndahayo, Col. Ntureka Didace, Amb.Jean Bosco Barege, Amb.Omar Ntezimbere, Hon. Edouard Nduwimana, Hon. Evelyne Butoyi, Hon. Léontine Nzeyimana and Hon. Annunciate Sendazirasa.

In the afternoon of the same day, senators unanimously approved the proposed candidacy of Mr. Désiré Minani as governor of Ngozi province.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, Mr. Albert Shingiro, represented the Burundian Government to provide clarification on the names of these candidates.
