Burundian Ombudsman received in audience by the Senate Speaker

April 1, 2021On Monday, February 21, 2021, the Senate Speaker, Rt. Honourable Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA received in audience the Honourable Edouard NDUWIMANA, Burundian Ombudsman. During their talks, the Honourable NDUWIMANA congratulated the Senate Speaker for his new position and spoke briefly about the functioning of the Institution he represents.
He mentioned that the Ombudsman Institution collaborates closely with the Senate through the Special Committee in charge of receiving the grievances of the population and following up of the recommendations issued by the Upper House of the Parliament.
As the reasons which motivated the creation of this Institution are no longer valid, the Rt. Honourable SINZOHAGERA suggested to his host to make a law proposal which could govern it so that it should have a mission meeting the current requirements.
