On February 13, 2022, the Speaker of the Senate, Right Honourable Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA, accompanied by some parliamentarians elected in the constituency of Gitega and administrative officials of the same province, joined the Christians of the Pentecost Church of Magarama, in the commune and province of Gitega, in the Sunday prayer.
The Right Honourable Sinzohagera, in his remarks, invited the faithful of that Church and the people of Burundi to rejoice at the lifting of sanctions against Burundi, and asked everyone to support and encourage the leaders, and more specifically the Head of State through prayer and hard work.
He called out them to realize agro-pastoral projects and ensure the education of their children, so that they can contribute properly to the development of the country.
The Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament also called on them to keep on preserving peace and security, the foundation of sustainable development, and to respect the barrier measures against Covid-19.
During his sermon, the Right Honourable Sinzohagera, who is also the Legal Representative of the United Methodist Church in Burundi, reminded Christians that God calls them to be holy by avoiding sin. He demonstrated that nothing can block the fulfillment of the divine promise because the Almighty respects his commitments to those who pray without ceasing.
