Burundians called upon to mitigate the effects of climate change

The Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, Senate Speaker, accompanied by his Second Deputy, Honourable Cyriaque Nshimirimana, and some parliamentarians elected in the constituency of Ruyigi, joined, on Saturday, November 05, 2022, the population of Kirungu village and its surroundings, in Nyabitsinda zone and commune of Ruyigi province, in concrete mixing works used for the construction of the foundation of the premises of the health centre of Gahambwe.

Addressing the participants in this work, the Right Honourable Sinzohagera called on the population of this locality to change their mentality for their good health, in particular through a balanced diet, hygiene, the proper use of mosquito nets impregnated with insecticide as well as the attendance at health facilities in the event of illness, etc.

He also called on them to ensure the proper management of the construction equipment of this health centre, and to prepare to properly maintain this infrastructure.

The Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament also invited Burundians to irrigate their fields during the dry season, to offset the effects of climate change.

As for him, the Second Deputy–Speaker of the Senate advised the population of this locality to ensure the good management of the construction equipment of this health centre and to ensure its maintenance.
