Members of the Senate Bureau took part in the closing ceremonies of the Interfaith Prayer Crusade organized by the CNDD-FDD Party, to give thanks to God, which took place at the AGASAKA Stadium, in Butanyerera province), on January 25, 2025.
These ceremonies were also attended by the President of the Republic of Burundi and President of the Council of Elders of the CNDD-FDD Party, in the company of his wife, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Vice-President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, parliamentarians, members of the government, as well as Bagumyabanga from all the provinces of the country.
In his speech, His Excellency the President of the Republic, drawing inspiration from the passage from the Book of Ezekiel 34:1-31, speaking of shepherds who are irresponsible towards the flocks they guard, urged political and religious leaders to always draw inspiration from the Word of God in their work.
He invited them to truly represent the people who elected them, to recognize where the country comes from, where it is currently, to get a clear vision and not to be satisfied only with positions, but rather to prove that they are truly worthy of the responsibilities entrusted to them.
He also insisted on the fact that the Burundian people must come out of their comfort zone to self-finance through projects, according to the ability of each one.
