On Saturday, March 04, 2023, the Speaker of the Senate, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, accompanied by certain parliamentarians elected in the constituency of Bubanza and some administrative officials of this province, joined the population of the village and zone of Buringa, Gihanga commune in the province of Bubanza, to plant trees.
Addressing the participants in this work, Right Honourable Sinzohagera called on Burundians to continue to work on environmental protection, through the “Ewe Burundi urambaye” project. He asked the population of Bubanza to invest much more in development projects, especially those in the field of agriculture and livestock. He also advised them to avoid cohabitation, not to build straw houses but rather those made of iron sheets, not to waste their harvest, to supervise their children and encourage them to continue their studies.
The Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament also called on the administrators of this province to preserve peace and security, and to collaborate with the administrators of the Congolese border province in Bubanza, within the framework of “Ujilani mwema”.
He also appealed to the Batwa population not to separate themselves from the rest of the Burundian social classes in their homes, in order to be able to conform to them during development projects.
