Christians of Nyanza-Lac Pentecostal Church invited to practice modern agriculture and livestock

On Sunday 16 July 2023, accompanied by senators elected in Makamba constituency, the Speaker of the Senate and Legal Representative of the United Methodist Church in Burundi, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, joined Christians from the Pentecostal Church of Nyanza-Lac, in Makamba province, in a Sunday prayer.

Addressing the Christians, Right Honourable Sinzohagera invited them to practice modern agriculture and livestock. He also called on young people and women to work in cooperatives, to take out loans from banks and microfinance institutions, in order to carry out their self-development projects.

During his sermon, the Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament focused on the Holy Scriptures, in particular the Gospel according to Saint Luke 13: 22-30; the Gospel according to Saint Matthew 3: 2 and 2 John 2-5. Through his teachings, he exhorted the faithful to strive to enter by the narrow gate, to repent because the Kingdom of heaven is near, and to be new creatures and pious. He also called them to be characterized by humility, wisdom and goodness.
