Commemoration of the 34th anniversary of the charter of national unity in Bujumbura city

On the occasion of the commemoration of the 34^th anniversary of the charter of national unity, Wednesday February 5, 2025, the Speaker of the Senate, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, joined forces with the Vice President of the Republic, His Excellency Prosper Bazombanza, who represented the Head of State in this event, and other high dignitaries of the nation, including the Right Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister, the Ombudsman, some parliamentarians, the minister in charge of home affairs and public security, certain administrative officials from Bujumbura town, various distinguished guests, representatives of religious denominations, as well as other Burundian citizens, during these ceremonies which took place at the National Unity monument.

His Excellency the Vice-President of the Republic then proceeded to lay a wreath of flowers at the monument of national unity.

This year’s celebration was held under the theme: “Let us be united as brothers and sisters, and strengthen unity through the realization of development projects.”
