In the morning of this Wednesday, March 15, 2023, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye, First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, met with the communal councils’members of Makamba province, to discuss the implementation of the law in the fulfillment of their daily task.
In her message, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye asked the participants in this meeting to respond regularly to the meetings organised by the administrator in order to prevent the latter from taking unilateral decisions.
She reminded them that they play an important role in strengthening security and she recalled that they must actively participate in the development of their administrative entities.
The First Deputy Speaker of the Senate challenged them to exercise their function by referring to the pillars of good governance, notably strict respect for the law, representativeness, the involvement of the population in development projects, transparency and presentation of reports on projects already carried out.
She also advised the communal administrators to love the work, to be punctual and regular at service, and implement the new programme of the Government concerning the Programme Budget.
Ultimately, the communal councils’ members were invited to always refer to communal law in the exercise of their mission.
The communal councils’ members, in turn, wanted educational sessions on this law to be organized for them so that they should fully ensure the development of their respective communes.
They also requested that travel expenses be increased to enable them to respond regularly to meetings.
