August 20, 2020On Tuesday August 25, 2020, in a plenary session which was chaired by Honorable Jean-Bosco KURISANSUMA, the oldest member, senators elected on July 20 of this year, proceeded to the election of new members of the Senate Bureau, composed of the Speaker of the Institution, Right Honorable Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA; the First Deputy Speakerr, Honorable Spès-Caritas NJEBARIKANUYE and the Second Deputy Speaker, Honorable Cyriaque NSHIMIRIMANA, respectively elected in the constituencies of Bujumbura, Gitega and Ruyigi.
Shortly after the establishment of the new Bureau of the Upper House of Parliament, the outgoing and incoming Bureau proceeded to handover and take over. Among the work tools provided are the mallet, the Constitution of the Republic of Burundi and the Rules of Procedure of the Senate.
Subsequently, Right Honorable SINZOHAGERA, in his speech, thanked senators for having elected him. He also indicated that he will work properly to well accomplish the missions of that Institution.
