On Thursday, November 13, 2025, the First Deputy speaker of the Senate, Honourable Générose NGENDANGANYA, concluded the tour she conducted in six zones in Gitega Province by a meeting with the people representatives in Masama and Rusi zones, Shombo Commune.
In their message, Honourable NGENDANGANYA and the five parliamentarians of the Lower Chamber of the parliament who accompanied her offered advice aimed at addressing the challenges faced by the population of these zones in the fields of health, justice, security, sanitation, environment, and self-development.
During the discussions, participants expressed their concerns regarding the lack of chemical fertilizers, insufficient access to drinking water and electricity, unequipped zone offices, and insufficient zone staff. The population of these zones also pleaded for farmers who sold their coffee and corn harvests to be paid.
These meetings in all of the zones of Gitega province were organized by parliamentarians who were on recess to inquire about the problems plaguing the people of this constituency.
