Kayanza local elected officials invited to respect the laws and be good representatives

In the continuation of the visits organized by the members of the Bureau of the Senate, the First Deputy-Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye, met the communal councilors of all the communes of the the province Kayanza, on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, to discuss the challenges they face during their mission.

Some of the challenges raised by these local elected officials are the lack of control over the preparation of the programme budget, which hinders them from closely monitoring the achievements of the municipal administrator, as well as the lack of collaboration between some municipal councilors and the administrator.

In her message, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye invited these communal councilors to learn about the proper functioning of the organs of the commune, to be good representatives, to respect the laws, to promote development for the benefit of the population and to strengthen communication.

Furthermore, she recommended that there should be good collaboration between the administrator, the communal councilors and the village chiefs for the well-being of the population.

As for the supposedly insufficient attendance fees, she reminded them that they must show sacrifice.
