The Speaker of the Senate and Legal Representative of the United Methodist Church in Burundi, Right Honorable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, accompanied by certain parliamentarians and the Mayor of the city of Bujumbura, joined the faithful of the Rehoboth Holy Church of Ngagara, in the commune of Ntahangwa, at the town of Bujumbura, on the occasion of the Sunday celebration prayer, on November 3, 2024.
In his preaching, Right Honorable Sinzohagera used biblical verses, notably 1 Samuel 8:19-20 and the first epistle of Saint Peter 2:9-12. He reminded the faithful that they are a holy nation and advised them to abstain from carnal lusts that harm their souls. He encouraged them to lead good conduct among the pagans, so that they, seeing their good works, would in turn glorify God.
The Speaker of the Upper House of Parliament also invited the faithful to be honest, to be guided by the Holy Spirit, to be credible and not to remain in sin. He emphasized the importance of repentance and encouraged everyone to never forget what God has accomplished in their lives.
