On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye, held a meeting for communal councilors of Rumonge province, to remind them to comply with the law in the exercise of their function.
In her message, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye called on the administrators to collaborate with the members of the communal councils in the implementation of development projects.
She urged local representatives to follow the communal law and validly represent the population.
The First Deputy Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament also advised them to work in transparency, to be accountable and exchange information.
She invited communal administrators to plan the Programme Budget taking into account the people’s will.
The members of communal councils, in their interventions, expressed the wish that capacity building sessions be organized for them regarding the design of the programme budget.
They also requested that this Budget be revised every six months in order to respond to any unforeseen events, to integrate the needs of the judicial services, in this case, those of the village notables, etc.
