SOSUMO AUTHORITIES CALLED ON TO MODERNIZE THIS COMPANY

The Senate Speaker, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, held a meeting with the executives of the Moso Sugar Company (SOSUMO), on Wednesday May 25, 2022, in the commune Bukemba of Rutana province, in order to discuss the ways and means of increasing production in that Company.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of SOSUMO, Mr. Aloys Ndayikengurukiye, that factory dates back to 1988, which constitutes a challenge in terms of technical maintenance and sufficient compared to demand which has increased significantly. But to face these challenges, he said that there is a project of extension, modernization and renewal of the plantations of that Factory.

The Right Honourable Sinzohagera encouraged the General Management of SOSUMO for these projects, to promote creativity in this Company and to pay the dividends to the State which is investor.

The Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament also advised the company managers to set up a research department in order to innovate projects aimed at effective modernization and for this organization to be competitive in the countries of the sub-region.

It should be noted that in the morning of that same day, the Senate Speaker and Legal Representative of the United Methodist Church in Burundi had met the staff of the Kayero Hospital affiliated with this Church. He encouraged that staff for their services during these first 3 months and asked them to improve the service for the population.
