SWEARING IN OF THE OMBUDSMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE TRUTH-RECONCILIATION COMMISSION (TRC)

On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, the new Ombudsman, Mrs. Aimée Laurentine Kanyana and all the members of the TRC sworn in before the President of the Republic and Parliament, at Kigobe Congress Palace, in Bujumbura City.

For the TRC, the swearing in was done by Ambassador Pierre Claver Ndayicariye: the President; Reverend Pastor Clément Noé Ninziza: the Vice-president and Madame Léa Pascasie Nizigama: the Secretary.

Others who took the oath are all members of this Commission. They are Mr. Aloys Batungwanayo, Mr. Sadiki Abdallah Kajandi, Mr. Ambassador Laurent Kavakure, Mr. Reverend Pastor Elie Nahimana, Mr Abbé Pascal Niyonkuru, Maître Déo Ndikumana, Mrs. Ambassador Stella Budiriganya, Mrs. Alice Nijimbere, Mrs. Dénise Sindokotse and Mrs. Charlotte Rukundo.
