
Under the high patronage of His Excellency Évariste NDAYISHIMIYE, President of the Burundi Republic, the Senate Speaker, the Right Honourable Gervais NDIRAKOBUCA, accompanied by his two Deputy-speakers, the Honourable Générose NGENDANGANYA and Clotilde KAMPIMBARE, took part in the swearing-in ceremonies of Prime Minister Nestor NTAHONTUYE, which took place this Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in the hemicycle of Kigobe, located in Ntahangwa Commune, Bujumbura Province.
Before the Almighty God, the President of the Burundi Republic, and the Parliament assembled in Congress, the Prime Minister swore allegiance to the Charter of National Unity, the Constitution, and the law. He pledged to devote all his energies to defending the nation’s higher interests, promoting the unity and cohesion of the Burundian people, peace, and social justice in the fulfilment of the duties entrusted to him.
He also pledged to combat all forms of ideology and practice of genocide or exclusion, and to defend the fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual and citizen.
Also present at these ceremonies were the Vice President of the Republic, parliamentarians, heads of defense and security forces, representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps accredited to Burundi, the Ombudsman, and many other dignitaries.
