On Monday, September 29, 2025, the Speaker of the Senate, His Excellency Gervais NDIRAKOBUCA, accompanied by his First Deputy speaker, Honourable Générose NGENDANGANYA, and his Second Deputy speaker, Honourable Clotilde KAMPIMBARE, participated in the official launch ceremonies of the 19th edition of the Peace Torch campaign in Burundi.
Held under the auspices of His Excellency Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE, President of the Republic, and attended by his wife, the ceremonies took place in the commune of Cankuzo, Buhumuza Province, under the theme: “Leader, a star that guides the people on the path of development.”
This event was attended by high-ranking officials of the country, including the Speaker of the National Assembly; the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court; the Vice-President of the Republic; the Prime Minister; the President of the Constitutional Court; other government authorities, and a large number of Buhumuza Province residents.
