The First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye, returned from a work mission which she had carried out in Brussels, in the Kingdom of Belgium, on the occasion of the 62nd session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), and the work of the intersessional meetings of the Joint Parliamentary Assembly (JPA).
Upon his arrival at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye indicated that this meeting was an opportunity for the participants to be informed about the lifting of the sanctions that the European Union had imposed against these OACPS countries.
“We have also been informed that the OACPS can establish friendly relations with other international organizations, in addition to the European Union”, she insisted.
She said that among the priority projects of this Parliamentary Assembly include visits to member countries of this Organization which are at war, as well as food stability.
The First Deputy Speaker of the Senate also indicated that she was received in audience by the President of this Parliamentary Assembly, on the sidelines of the meeting, to discuss the strengthening of relations of friendship and cooperation between Burundi and its country, Mozambique.
