On Saturday, April 15, 2023, the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye, met, in the capital of the province of Gitega, the communal councilors of this province to discuss the challenges they encounter during the accomplishment of their missions.
During this meeting, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye called on the members of the communal councils to make good use of the communal law as well as the manual of administrative and financial procedures governing the communes.
She urged them to be honest, plan commune projects, to work hard and fight corruption.
She also asked them to serve as a good model for others, to do their utmost for the good of the population, to collaborate with elected officials and to work in transparency.
The First Deputy Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament reassured them that training on the programme budget will be organized for communal councilors from all provinces.
She also promised that she will convey to the competent authorities their concerns related in particular to the insufficient number of teachers and desks in some schools in this province.
Shortly before this meeting, the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, accompanied by certain parliamentarians elected in the constituency of Gitega, joined the population of the capital of the province Gitega, during the mixing of the concrete, used for the construction of the basketball court, in the city of the political capital.
Addressing the participants in this activity, Honourable Ndadaye called on them to carry out development projects, particularly those in the agro-pastoral field, and not to waste their harvest.
She contributed 50 bags of cement to this construction, on her own behalf.
