During the parliamentary recess, the First Deputry Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Générose NGENDANGANYA, accompanied by five deputies from Gitega constituency, met on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, with the chiefs of zone and village leaders of Nyabikere and Mubaragasa zones, respectively in Shombo and Karusi communes.
The purpose of these meetings was to gather the population’s grievances regarding justice, economy, sanitation, security, and other issues.
Among the challenges raised by the participants were the lack of medicine in health centers, the unavailability of fertilizers, coffee farmers who have not yet been paid for their harvest, and the lack of collaboration between the village leaders and the local court judges.
