On September 26, 2024, the First Deputy-Speaker of the Burundi Senate, Honourable Denise Ndadaye participated in the activities of the 11th annual consultation meeting of the Association of Senates, Shoura and Equivalent Councils of Africa and the Arab World, ASSECAA in acronym, which is held at the Sipopo International Conference Centre in Malabo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea. The opening ceremonies of this meeting were led by the President of the Chamber of Advisors of the Morocco Kingdom and current President of ASSECAA, H.E Enaam MAYARA.
In this meeting, the participants discussed on various themes, starting with the theme entitled “Regional integration: Strengthening joint parliamentary action by countries of the South to meet development and environmental challenges. ”The second theme was “Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the countries of the South: Inventory of fixtures and Perspectives.”
In her speech on the theme related to the strengthening of joint parliamentary action of the countries of the South to get regional integration; the Honourable First Deputy-Speaker of the Senate said that the member parliaments of ASSECAA must emphasize the establishment of a framework for dialogue and experiences exchanges allowing a better future for African and Arab populations.
On the sidelines of this meeting, the First Deputy-Speaker of the Senate met with Honourable Yapi Raymond N’DOHI, Deputy-Speaker of the Côte d’Ivoire Senate in charge of sustainable development and regional planning.
Their discussions focused on the consolidation of relations of friendship and cooperation between both the Burundi and Côte d’Ivoire Senates.
