May 9, 2021The Honorable Spès-Caritas NJEBARIKANUYE, First Deputy-speaker of the Senate, took part in the inauguration ceremonies of a new Church of the Catholic Parish of Mubuga-Rutonde, in Gitega commune and province, on Saturday May 08, 2021. These ceremonies were chaired by the Archbishop of the Archdiocese Gitega, Monsignor Simon Ntamwana.
In her message, the Honorable Njebarikanuye thanked the christians and all those who have contributed in the construction work of this Church.
The First Deputy-speaker of the Senate appreciated the contribution of the Catholic Church in the development of the country, particularly in the fields of education, health, etc.
She reaffirmed the Government’s support for the Catholic Church in the activities aiming at the development of the country in general and that of Christians, in particular.
Finally, she advised the population to fight against Covid-19.
