The Senate Bureau and all senators joined the presidential family in a prayer of thanksgiving on the occasion of the ceremonies marking the fourth anniversary of the inauguration of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Burundi, on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Those ceremonies took place in the commune Nyabihanga, province Mwaro, and began by a mass celebrated at the Catholic Parish of Kibumbu in the commune Kayokwe.
After the mass, the ceremonies went on the playground of the Commune Nyabihanga.
The theme of this crusade was taken from Deuteronomy 8:7-18.
In his sermon, His Excellency Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE asked all those present to remember God the Almighty because he is strength and protection. He also recalled that with colonization, the Burundians took a step backwards, thinking that Burundi could not live without help from the international community.
He then stressed that peace and security, the endurance of Burundi during the period of international sanctions, the abundance of rainfall, the existence of productive lands as well as the presence of several minerals in the Burundian subsoil are the proof that Burundi has been blessed by the Almighty.
To conclude, He invited everyone to avoid lamenting, to get to work and to change their mentality.
